Hello,

following problem: After I compiled and built my setup, the setup stops with following error messages:

1. It stops by "Preparing to Install"
2. "Error 1606: Could not access network location"
3. "Failed to complete installation"

I also found the following lines at the end of the log-file:
...
Action start 16:44:25: FileCost.
Action ended 16:44:25: FileCost. Return value 1.
Action start 16:44:25: IsolateComponents.
Action ended 16:44:25: IsolateComponents. Return value 1.
Action start 16:44:25: ResolveSource.
Action ended 16:44:25: ResolveSource. Return value 1.
Action start 16:44:25: CostFinalize.
Error 1606.Could not access network location DMS32.
Error 1606.Could not access network location DMS32.
Action ended 16:45:00: CostFinalize. Return value 3.
1: Failed to launch action 'CostFinalize', error is 1603

Can someone help me?

Regards
Thomas

Check if there is a non existent path (could be some UNC path also) in either the property or directory table.

I had the problem, too. In my setup I had an entry in the PROPERTY-Table called DATADIR and an entry in the DIRECTORY-Table with the same name (DATADIR).

I removed the entries and the related components/features. Then I created the fetaures/components again using different names.
