Forcing in main release uninstalltion to uninstall all future versioned patches

I want to force customers to uninstall all released patches when they uninstall main release.

For example: if i release main version 1.0.0 today and release patches 1.0.1, 1.0.2 etc every couple of month and next year I release version 2.0.0.

At that time i want customer to uninstall 1.0.0 before installing 2.0.0. How do i make sure customer uninstall all patches too like 1.0.1, 1.0.2....before uninstalling 1.0.0.

What is good strategy to achieve above?

In my understanding, uninstalling version 1.0 should also uninstall all its patches. Is this not what you are seeing? What are the symptoms, i.e. how do you see that patches are being left behind?

Thanks for your reply. I have not tried yet and trying to be proactive.

I was wondering if we need to do some setting in main release installation to make this happen ( automatically uninstalling same product patches). Or it will happen by default.
