The essence of Wise's replies is:
- "Wise has a reputation of honesty and integrity, and nothing like this has every happened before in our history"
- Patrick Ziarnik, chief legal counsel for Wise, did not dispute having InstallShield's customer database.
- Wise says the customer database has been publicly available, which Wise claims to have determined through a "forensic investigation". (InstallSield insists that it was password protected)
- Wise is cooperating with federal officials and has hired a private computer security firm to determine what happened.
A court date has not yet been set.
