I looked at article no: 102794 and implemented 'How To Target a compenent (shortcut in my case) to a path from Registry'

In RegLocator table (in PowerEditor) I have put:

short   2  SOFTWARE\Company\Tool   Dirname   1

it works fine on Win2000 and NT.
But on Win98 it does NOT work because there is no key called 'SOFTWARE' in registry , instead it is 'Software' (under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE ).

And, AppSearch seems to do a 'Case- Sensitive' search of the path in Registry.

How can i get around this problem, please help.
ie how can I make AppSearch to do a CaseInsensitive search in Registry.

How about adding a second search line?  Maybe you could call the first one "ShortNT" and the other one Short9x.  Dirname should then pick up the value of whichever one appears.  I am not working with Win98 machines, so I can't test this one directly.
