Hi,

I have InstallShield Developer 8.0 [InstallScript MSI project].

When I try to install the created installable from the CD image, it gives the error "1607 unable to install installshield scirpting runtime" .

However, if I copy the image from the CD to harddisk, the installation works perfectly.

I have run out of ideas.

I have done following changes for this version of the installation :

1) Added a MDAC 2.7 merge module
2) Executing a batch file which creates a group in the OS.

This changes seems to be innocent for the problem mentioned.
My previous version of install works fine even from the CD image.

Any clue why this is happening ?

Did you look at this article:

It might be a permission/policy problem: the installscript enginge is installed via ISScript.msi, i.e. using .msi. A policy may prevent installation of MSIs from removeable media.
