Hi!

I'm trying to build a patch installation using Install Shield 7.
I select the project of the version that should be updated by the patch
and the project of the version to which it should be updated by the patch.

The patch wizard than asks me for a Patch Package Code. It tells me that
this number has to be unique. A generate button allows to create such a number.
But after generating a new number, the wizard tells me the number would
not be unique. I can try to generate new number as long as I like, the wizards
always keeps telling me, the number is not unique.

What am I doing wrong?!?

Are you using InstallShield Professional 7 or InstallShield Developer 7 ?

I am using InstallShield Professional. But meanwhile I have found the problem.
The package number refered to the package number of the single installations, not
the package number displayed in the update wizard. I did not change this from one
release to the next.. After changing it, everything was working.
