As I can see in this log there is an attempt to prompt for credentials, but UAC Dialog didn't started at all! Installation failed for no visible reason whatever.

Is the setup wrapped in a setup.exe ? |
The setup file is msi package.

This occures when installation goes on the server side, Install phase already started. Is it possible that server-side process can't interact with UAC control and this error is an effect of this?

The latest news is that we can't reproduce this behaviour on live system - only in VMWare environment. I suppose this issue caused by some delays (timeout) when server-side installer process interacts with UAC control under VMWare environment.

That does make sense, especially if your VMWare version does not list official support for Vista (which I would believe it doesn't).
