This forum is a read-only archive about the following problem:

During setup initialization InstallShield 6 sometimes displays an error message "Setup failed to run installation. The argument string passed to DosExecPgm is not correct." or error code "0x80040707" with no additional information.

This problem only happened with setups that were created with InstallShield Professional 6. This is an old version that has been superseded by several product generations, and we don't expect that any fixes for the old version will be released. Therefore, and to prevent posting of unrelated topics, this forum is now read-only.
