The Ghost Installer product used to be created and sold by gInstall Corp., a company based in Germany. Since around June 16 the URL http://www.ginstall.com redirects to http://www.ethalone.com, the web site of US-based Ethalone Solutions, Inc., who are now offering the product. There is very little information about what has happended. The following is a quote from a forum message posted by a member of the "Ethalone Team":

Our business framework was restructured in order to improve our effectiveness and quality of our product. As a result the Ethalone Solutions, Inc. (US-based corporation) was founded. Details of this process is not a public information. |
It was also said that the "People are partially new, and partially the same".
At the same time, Ethalone Solutions released the new version 4.0 of Ghost Installer, only a few weeks after former owner gInstall Corp. had told customers that the release would be postponed to autumn. Also there's no mention of support for Windows Installer (MSI) on the web site anymore. MSI support was one of the new features that gInstall Corp. had announced for version 4.
An interesting aside: The ethalone.com domain is registered to:
Ethalone Solutions, Inc.
K.Miagotina, 74-38
Kurgan, Kurgan region 640026
Russian Federation
And the ginstall.com domain is registered to a person at that same address.

The Windows Installer support is a most important goal for us as before. But we've decided to re-design it to create true MSI packages (in contrast to early alpha builds where it was mixed with our proprietary format). So Windows Installer support was deferred for the next major version - 5.0.
