On August 9, 2004 Caphyon LLC released a new version of their Windows Installer authoring tool Advanced Installer. Version 1.8 adds the ability to create installers that will check if prerequisite applications are present on the target machine and optionally download and install them. Supported are: Java Runtime Environment, .Net Framework, Visual Basic Script Engine, DirectX and more, together with user-defined applications. The new version also sports an integrated help for easy getting started with Advanced Installer, UI improvements and bugfixes.
