If anybody at all has any tips,please could you help.
If I include a merge module for mdac ( mdac26enu) , and want to execute mdac_type.exe if 2.6 version does not exist on computer, how do I refer to it ???  The only other way I know is to exclude merge module from my set up and just include the mdac_type.exe file in my dest. computer.

The merge module included to setup will be installed if a target system has older version of these files or doesn't have they. You don't need to do anything to check they existing.
