Hi to everyone!
I have a problem and I hope to find a help (I am not very competent).
I must to modify the help-guide of a free software.
The installation procedure start by clicking a MSI file. MSI file use a CAB file that contains 94 files for the installation (among those of the help-guide).
I have extracted all the files from the CAB file, I have replaced the 3 CHM files and I have created a new CAB file.
With this procedure during the installation an error message appear ( impossible to find a file in the CAB file ) and the installation procedure is failed. I think that the CAB file have a signature or similar (hash).
I have tried to use WinINSTALL 2003 LE (free) and Orca (free) without to get the right solution.
Does a free solution exist to solve my problem? Is there a method to repackage the CAB file?
Thanks in advance

You need to read up on the following topics:
http://msdn.microsof...media_table.asp
http://msdn.microsof.../file_table.asp
In particular, read about the "Sequence" column of the file table.
If you're struggling with the cab file, bear in mind that your files don't HAVE to be compressed.
