I'm using Visual Studio Installer to create .msi for my small application. I'm trying to test upgrading from one version of the app to the next. As best as I can tell according to the documentation, creating a New Product Code in the VSI project's property dialog & keeping the existing Upgrade Code allows you to create an Installation that upgrades a previous version of the same product. I've tried testing this, and everything works fine except that I wind up with multiple entries in Add/Remove programs, one for every version of the app that's been installed.
I've gotten the same result with Win2K, NT4, and Win98SE.
Could this be because my Build configuration is Debug?
Is this a known Bug in the Visual Studio Installer? I can't find a reference to it anywhere :(
