Hello, we have to install some non versioned files and we're using companion files.
**************************************************
Unfortunately when I try to install I get this message in the log:
SI (s) (D0:DC) [13:54:30:203]: Failed to generate hash for file 'D:\UserKbs\userkbs\AR-SETUP.PLN.kb'. Error: 0x2
**************************************************
Can anyone help me?
I tried to check the component table and it seems to be ok.
Some other components are configured in the same way and can be installed.
Regards,
Ignazio

Does the file exist in the specified location, and do the user and the system account have read access to it? Is it in a compressed folder?

The user is the local administrator and the file does not exist, the machine is clean and never been installed with this package.
The same behaviour is currently happened in differen PC

The message indicates that a hash could not be computed for the pre-existing file - because it doesn't exist. That makes sense. I don't think this is an error.

Other files (same configuration and extension) that are part of the same component are installed properly.
If the message is correct I expect that all files are mentioned in the log because nohing exists prior the installation of the package

In this case, I don't know the answer. Maybe you can zip and post your log?
