I have an MSI installed on a machine, but want to change some of the entries in the msi database e.g. some custom table entries, I can then upgrade the installed installer which will reflect the new changes.
The problem I am running into is when an application needs a new MST applied to a existing install, I currently have to perform an uninstall then reinstall to get the MST to apply. Is there a way to force a new MST to apply during an MSI upgrade, without reinstalling?
I gather that transforms can only be applied as MSIs are being installed. They cannot modify installations once the product has been installed?
Is this the case or is there a workaround for my problem?
Cheers in advance.

That's true, you can only apply the transform during first time install. Subsequent maintenance operations will use the same transform. Any modifications need to be in your patch package.
