Macrovision has released InstallAnywhere version 8. At the same time, the InstallShield Multiplatform product line has been discontinued. InstallAnywhere includes migration tools to help translate legacy InstallShield MultiPlatform projects into InstallAnywhere 8.
Since the acquisition of Zero G, Macrovision was offering two different cross-platform installation tools (for Linux, MacOS etc.): InstallShield Multiplatform and InstallAnywhere. It was clear that this wouldn't go on forever. Now the decision has been made in favor of InstallAnywhere.
InstallShield Multiplatform users can upgrade to InstallAnywhere 8 at a reduced price. Existing customers can even buy additional Multiplatform licenses for a limited time. For details see http://www.macrovisi.../ismp_eol.shtml
