I've tried looking on the installshield.com website but can't find the documentation I need. I'd like to find out the web hosting requirements for the WebUpdate software and how exactly the update is retrieved and installed on the client's computer. Also, what other software is needed (i.e., I know InstallShield is needed but do I also need InstallFromTheWeb)?

WebUpdate doewnloads and execute a VB Script. I think this VBS includes the information about the latest available software version and the steps to initiate if a new version is available.
InstallFromTheWeb is not required, but useful.
If you have WebUpdate I believe this information, samples and a wizard ti generate the VBS file are inluded on the CD.
AFAIK WebUpdate is no longer available, at least I don't see it on the web site anymore.
