Does any have any information on the error message in the title?

It occurs when trying to run a patch and then exact wording was:

Internal Error 2356: Data1.Cab
Those who live by the sword get shot by those who don't.

according to the MSI help this error is "Couldn't locate cabinet in stream".  if the cabinet name is preceded by a number sign it is stored in the data stream inside the package ( this also makes the name of the cabinet case-sensitive so please watch and match cases ).

if you have not preceded the cabinet name with a # sign then it is stored as a separate file external to the msi ( located in the root directory of the source tree.  in this case it is required that you use a 8.3 filename and the cabinet data type can not use the shortname | longname syntax.

is the cabinet stored internally or externally and are the conditions required being met ?  because patching sometimes requires access to the original source files are they still available ?

Hi

If you created the Patch with the Patch wizard try
setting the condition on the versions to 'Don't check'
and they try the patch.
I assume you followed all the other rulls for patching.
