I have created a Basic MSI project with Project Wizard (IS 7.0 Dev). Added components, and added files to components. Then wanted to create Windows regisrty keys per component. Can't do that neither per component basis nor under "Configure Target System \ Registry" section in Destination Computer Registry View.
Questions: (1) how to implement this? (2) why this simple operation should be so complicated???

You need to switch to the Installation Designer view for this. Go to the Registry view in the System Configuration branch. There's a drop down box at the upper border of the view where you can select the component for new registry entries you create.
