How can i patch an exe file, not a msi file!

hi,
i want to patch my release.
I can only update the msi file with the msp file. But i want to upgade an exe file. I tested with update.exe and with msp but without success.
is it possible to upgrade an exe file?

can somebody help me?

The pathcing feature in Installshield is misleading. The patches created is applied on the MSI, not the programs files(exe, dll,...) installed on the end user's machines.
The create a patch for that, u may try RTPatch

That's not accurate.  A patch is generated from the difference between two MSIs.  It modifies the installed files (your program, support files or anything else that you installed) and not the original MSI.

It is a transform that modifies an MSI directly so that when that MSI is used in the future it installs the upgraded version.
