Windows Installer API Functions
My life would have been a lot easier a lot earlier if I'd known this was here.
What burns my ass is you type something like MsiDatabaseOpenView in the InstallScript index and you get nothing - even though it's a valid InstallScript function.
I've been bustin' my tail trying to get C++ DLL's working with these Windows Installer functions and InstallShield had InstallScript versions all along!
What a bunch of ball-busters!
Maybe a bunch of you already know about this, but I can't be the only one who missed this critical page.
For an example of how to use them:
1) go to InstallScript in Developer
2) in upper left drop down, select "Miscellaneous"
3) in upper right drop-down select ResolveSource
Check out the script it adds as an example.
