Hi, I have an msi file that works fine with windows installer 1.20.1827.0 but fails with error 2755 / 995 when I try to make an administrative setup on windows installer 2.00.2475.00.
It also works fine if the setup is not an administrative setup.
Does anybody know what may be wrong?
thanks

What operating system? What version is Windows Installer 2.00.2475.00? AFAIK the release version of MSI 2.0 is 2.0.2600.0 (for NT/2000)

I've just downloaded and installed version 2.00.2600.0 but the problem is still there.
The installation fails on Windows 2000.
It works fine on windows 2000 with windows installer  1.11.1314.0 or windows 95 with windows installer  1.20.1827.0
thankyou!

Does the log file contain any useful information?
This might be a bug in MSI 2.0

Aparently,  something is causing windows installer  to access an invalid memory address, but I don't know what.

Exception code: C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION

So it looks like a bug, either in MSI or in a custom action maybe?

The msi file had some  non compressed entries in file table with sequence = 0
This was causing windows installer 2.0 to make a memory access violation.
