At the moment I have some problems with the module setup capture of wise package studio 4.0.
When I make a initial capture of the system the setup capture works fine. But when I want to finalize the capture the process takes forever. (in total about 4 hours)
The process wfWI.exe uses 99% of my CPU during the capture.
When I make the same snapshot with wise 3.52 I don't have any problems (accept a license issue but that is some thing else ). The process takes only 15 minutes.
Does someone know if there is a fix for this problem?
Is ther a patch available for wise or is this a known issue ?
I hoop someone can help me out here.
Thnx in advance
The configuration I work with:
Compaq EVO desktops with windows XP and wise package studio 4.0.

We have had that problem here a couple of times.
We have about 5 developers running Package Studio client off a share point.
When it slows down like that, have everyone get out of anything they are doing, and then compact/repair the repository (database).
Seems to clear everything up for us.
You should be able to do this even if it is standalone, and not on a share point.
Hope it helps.

We have had some buggy Setup Capture errors with extreme slowness.
I created a reg file and batch file and placed all Wise Source Files on my server. That way I don't have to run the install on all my clean repackage machines.
Since then we have be cranking out the msi packages.
