Hi all. I am looking for feedback regarding per-user installs. Specifically I would like to know what benefits, problems and recommendations other people would have regarding this issue? The technical issues surrounding per-user installs is clear, but the process and business implications are not.

Only consider this if many customers want to deploy the software on Terminal Servers, or on workstations shared by multiple users - otherwise it's not worth the effort.
The concept implies situations where end-users have limited rights on the system (as other users may not use the software), so the software must be up to it as well.
If this is all true, you need to address issues like:
- if multiple users install the software on the same computer, how can you upgrade that software?
- if a user is destroyed, how do you uninstall his software?
Hope this helps.
