InstallShield Offers New MSI Training Class: “Designing and Deploying MSI Updates and Patches”

In response to the often complicated task of building Windows Installer patches and updates, InstallShield® Software Corporation announced the new "Designing and Deploying MSI Updates and Patches" class.

One of the greatest challenges today's software developers face is keeping users current with the latest application updates. Application maintenance is time-consuming, and the complexities of MSI can make creating patches and updates even more painful. In this new training class, InstallShield experts will clear up common misconceptions about patching; provide a solid understanding of MSI patch behavior; and teach best practices for designing, validating and deploying patches and updates. Developers will leave the class with concrete solutions to real-life patching and upgrading issues.

Key seminar topics include:

  • In-depth Analysis of MSI Patching and Updating technology
  • Optimizing Setups for future Updates
  • Building and Delivering Updates and Patches
  • Update and Patch Validation
  • Diagnosing and Solving Problems

Instructors:
Robert Dickau has more than 10 years of experience writing software training materials and delivering courses and presentations worldwide, and has worked with Windows Installer technology since its beta program in 1998. He is a Senior Technical Trainer at InstallShield Software Corporation.
