Hi,
Is it possible to install Windows Installer 4.0 (or 4.5) on my OS and still use Install Shield 11.5 to build MSI projects?
I don't think so because IS 11.5 contains a list of table and other things directly from Windows Installer.
But I just want to be sure...
If the answer is negative, then we can say that in order to build a stable installer for Vista, we need to upgrade to the latest IS...

While InstallShield 11.5 doesn't officially support Vista, MSI 4.0 should be compatible with previous versions, so I think this might work. However I'd prefer a InstallSield version that supports Vista if you build your setup on or for Vista.
MSI 4.5 is in beta, so don't use this for production builds.
