Hello,

I see InstallShield has an option to encrypt a feature. Does anyone know the type of encryption used (e.g., AES 256) and whether it complies with some external standard?

InstallShield seems to have little information on this topic.

I found this post:

http://community.fle...t=183591&page=2

This links to another site that implies InstallShield was classified as 5D992. From another source (http://www.microsoft.com/exporting/termsmx.htm) I found this:

5D992.b.1 - Information Security - Software (data confidentiality encryption less than or equal to 64-bits in key space or data authentication encryption)

The export laws on encryption have changed a bit, but I'm going to assume that the encryption supported in InstallShield is no more than 64 bit.
