Hi
How can I differentiate between Windows 2008 and Vista?
VersionNT and WindowsBuild values for both the OS are the same. Are there any other properties that I can use?

I haven't tested this but I'd expect MsiNTProductType to be 3 for Win2k8 Server (and 2 for a domain controller).

MsiNTProductType does help.
MsiNTProductType=1 for Vista
Values for MsiNTProductType greater than 1 for Win2K8 versions
Thanks.

have you tried GetSystemInfo? You can get OSMAJOR and OSMINOR versions. It uses the windows API and should do what you want.

GetSystemInfo is an InstallScript function. This is the forum about Basic MSI setups, and a custom action isn't needed for this.
