I've created a websetup project with VS 2003. The necessary values for the
dsn to create a database in a custom action will be collected with a dialog. All works fine. But there is a problem with the uninstall procedure. The values of savedState (IDictionary) are no longer available to create the dsn deleting the database. Is there another solution than to write the data to the registry?

Installer propertiea are like varialbles in a program: after the program has finished their value is gone, unless you save it to a file or registry.
The registry is a convenirent place because it's relatively easy to read values using AppSearch and RegLocator tables.
