Hi All,

I had created MSI using Basic MSI project. And it was working as expected.

Now I have to update few of the config sections of the MSI before giving over to customer (I should change this config section before installing MSI ).

So, is there any option to update the created MSI work out using InstallShield.

Do any one has idea how to do this Dynamically using C# like that.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Rama

You can edit an msi using tools like InstEd or Orca and there's also an automation interface.

Thanks Stefan Krueger on quick reply :).

Instead of using other tools, can I have a option like given below,

As I have to update few of the config sections of the product before giving over to customer,

Can I maintain config file as separate file out from msi packge?

So, that I can easily modify the configs section.

Thanks in advance

Regards,

Rama

Yes, I think there's even a knowledge base article that explains how to copy extra files.
