I have to add files to MSI project I am creating, requirement is as below
1. files should be in external CAB files (this I done easily)
2. files should be in compressed format inside those cab files and naming convention would looks like filename.Guid.
but files should be installed to Local system with the actual file name only.
How to achieve this? I am really confused on this

I don't think this is possible. Why do you have this requirement, what di you want to achieve? maybe there's a better way.

My doubt is:
Files in our product MSI’s CAB are in format of filename.guid and also in File table file name is of same format (i.e. filename.guid). but files are getting installed as filename only to the local Disk. How to achieve this?

I guess these are files that are coming from a merge module (the GUID would be the module guid)
