Hi!

I'm looking for an installation authoring tool which can make update packages which can be reverted.
At present we use InstallShield 2011 and as far as I learned it can't do it.
Also I've read about MSI rollback and that also isn't what I want - this is when installation is failing.
Also I thought about Windows restore points, but they are for a whole system and seems redundant.

Exact specification:
The packaging system should produce packages which can:
-install
  -whole product
  -specific components
-uninstall
  -whole
  -specific
-repair
-upgrade
-revert upgrade

Any suggestions?

In Windows Installer (MSI) you can packages updates as patches (MSI) and these patches can be uninstallable (of authored appropriately), so by uninstalling the patch the system is reverted to the previous state. InstallShield (an other authoring tools) can create uninstallable patches.
