Hello,

Minor upgrade Patch,

Is there a possibility to get rid of the ask for the original MSI file?

LOG file begins with:

What's wrong with my MSI or my MSP?
Can someone give me a hint?

Thanks in advance!

There are a number of reasons why your patch might require the source:

Is there a way of identifying the feature that might cause the prompt. I have an update.exe patch that is derived from a minor update.

It's happening very early in the log, so I don't think it's feature releated.

Try a more verbose log, with DebugLevel 7. See http://www.msifaq.com/a/1022.htm

I have created the largest, verbose log file! I just need to know what is happening when it prompts for the original disk. What am I looking for?

Can you post the start of this log? The log in your original post seems to be created with debug level 0.
How are you launching the patch install (update.exe, double click the .msp, msiexec.exe)? What command line parameters are you using?
