Hi,

I am in the process od preparing installation package
using InstallShield 7 + ServicePack 4.

I have to generate new package and test it many many times but I have encountered the problem using
the following schema:

1) installation of package A ( generated in the morning )
2) deinstalation
3) attempt to install package B ( prepared in the evening ).

InstallShield displays message like this : "cannot find file
_A2BAF~1.cab" and I cant continue installation.

All codes ( package code, product code, package code and others I do not know about  :) ) remains unchanged and this is the source of trouble, I guess.

My question is: what information on the disc should I find
and erase ( files, register keys... ) to make the second installation possible ?
Is there another way to avoid my problems excluding
changes in package codes ?

If there is no way out - which code I have to regenerate ?

Thanks in advance

Zielony

You must always change the PackageCode. You can instruct InstallShield to do this automatically for each bult. This is a setting in the properties of the Product Configuration (in Releases view). Generate Package Code = yes

Many thanks for answer !.
Unfortunately it still works wrong. New package
with new package code generates an error just in the beginning of installation process, while IS prepares to install.
The message is: "Another version of this product is already installed. Cannot continue this installation. To configure or remove existing version of this procust use Add/Remove
from Control Panel. {827643876... }"

( in curly braces there was actual PRODUCT code ).

This means that the older version is still installed.
