I simply want to check for .Net 4.5. I have learnt that this can be done by checking registry value.

 

I can't seem to find how to add this as a condition.

 

In Installation Information -> General Information -> Install Condition

 

I try to add a condition but the available list does not provide any Registry related functions.

 

Do I simply type in something like "RegDBGetKeyValueEx(...)" or is there a simpler way for this?

No, you first have to do a system search to read the registry, then you can use the result in the condition. There are already some predefined searches.

Yes, thanks I discovered this on the install shield forum this morning and it works. Basically, I added a search and then a condition using the search variable.
