Hi,
am I able to add complete directories with its subdirectories from my HDD to a file section of a component, or must I create a new component for each subdir?
In Wise for Windows Installer I can only select files, but no directories if I say New->File in the component section.
Does someone know a solution? I know you have , please help me.

The concept of Windows installer says:
A component can only contain files which are installed to the same folder. Every subfolder needs it's own component. If there are COM-components included, then every COM-component needs it's own installer component.
I think this clarifies, why there is no way to select directories - they could contain further subfolders. Furtheron the name of a directory is not specified in the component - it's part of the directory table.
