Is it possible to add files to component using a relative path?

Not exactly relative paths, but you can use path variables to make your source paths flexible. There are even predefined path variables for things like the folder where the project file resides so you can have "relative" paths underneath it.

Can I create a new path variable and assign a defined value like this: ..\..\files ?
The path is relative from the location of the ism file.
can I use the pre-defined variables for files located on different folders not underneath the project folder?

I'm not sure, you would have to try.

You can create your own path variables, and you can even use environment variables or registry entries as path variables.
