I added Access97 merge module and then problems began. This DLL seems to be present on 98, NT and 2000 but missing on 95, at least on the machines I have tested my installation program on.
After getting the error message that states that the dll ctl3d32.dll is missing, I added the merge module (on recommendation from InstallShield support) "Windows Common Control ActiveX Control DLL", but the dll is still missing. Is this mege module supposed to add the ctl3d32.dll to Windows system folder if missing, I sure don't know? Is there somewhere you can read about the contets and actions of a merge module?

there is no dll's in msm's. you have to install 50comupd.exe (get it from ms site) or install IE which will deliver version of comctls you need.
