I use WinXP AMD64 installation package tested under Vista x64 OS, after it Finished, I could not find any item about my installation in the Change or Remove Program.

I create a new one, and the same thing happened.

I use InstallShield 10.5 Premier Edition. Set value "AMD64;1033" in the place of "General Information" --> "Summary Information Stream" --> "Template Summary". Compiled source under WinXP SP2.

Does anyone know about this? Thanks!

BR,
Daniel

A verbose log may help diagnosing the problem.

Hi, Stefan,

I followed the document of "How do I create a log file of my installation", and create a log file under Vista x64 OS. (Attached file)

But I could not find any useful information. ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT sets 1.

BTW, I install the InstallShield 10.5 Premier Edition in the Vista x64 computer, still can not find any item in the Add or Remove Program List.

BR,
Daniel

From the MSiIdocumentation:
QUOTE
Setting the ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT property to 1 using the command line or a transform prevents the application from being displayed in the Add or Remove Programs list of Control Panel.

So unless I'm misunderstanding your question, it's working exactly as intended.

Hi, Stefan,

No, I am not use command line set ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT as 1. I just open the log file and find something about ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT. The following lines show the word of ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT.

TARGETDIR=D:\ USERNAME="Windows User" USERPROFILE=C:\Users\Administrator\ ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT=1 ARPNOMODIFY=1 ARPNOREMOVE=1 ISSETUPDRIVEN=1
...
MSI (s) (1C:B4) [09:55:45:250]: PROPERTY CHANGE: Adding ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT property. Its value is '1'.
...
Property(S): ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT = 1
...
ISALWAYSINSTALLELEVATED;ISSETUPDRIVEN;ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT;ARPNOMODIFY;ARPNOREMOVE;INSTALLDIR

So I said "ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT sets 1". I'm not sure about this value. The same setup program installed under WinXP AMD64 & Vista AMD64, it will have different result. Under WinXP AMD64, it was successful, but under Vista AMD64, I could not find my installation in the ARP. Even I installed IS 10.5 software under Vista x64, it does not show any infomation about InstallShield 10.5 in the ARP List.

Maybe the Vista is a beta version. But our custom wants the program under Vista.

Daniel

Someone or something sets the ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT property to 1. As a result the program is not listed in ARP. The latter is expected behaviour. So the real question is: who is setting ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT=1. I have no idea.
