Hey,
I have a project that was created with Installscript MSI. I would like to convert this project to be a Merge module and use it in another pure MSI project.
Is it possible?
If it is – how do I do it? I understand how to export the components into a new MSM project, but what do I do with the InstallScript part?
Is there anything else that needs to be done in the MSM project?
thanks,
Dana

Hey,
since i got no responses, let me simplify my question:
Can a Merge Module have InstallScript in it?
or should it be pure MSI?
thanks,
Dana

I've never done it, but I believe a merge module can have InstallScript custom actions in it. However, since a merge module is a Windows Installer file, it does not run the InstallShield script engine like a setup.exe does.
