After the 2356 error appears the packages are not reinstalled/installed correctly (files not replaced).

All my packages are compressed as one network image. When our users reinstall the package(s) they get an error: 2356. The reinstall has the properties: REINSTALL=ALL REINSTALLMODE=a.
After the 2356 error appears the packages are not reinstalled/installed correctly (files not replaced).

When a packed package is installed the embedded files are removed before the products msi is cached on the local machine.
If you try to install from the cached package using for example add/remove programs. Your install must fail because the files are no longer present.
If you are reinstalling with the original package then you may be able to re-install adding the v option to REINSTALLMODE.

The install/reinstall is done from the original package.
