Where is inetpub installed?

I need to install files into a folder beneath /inetpub/wwwroot/myfolder and then point the virtual directory to this location.  I have some nice .vbs to accomplish the virtual directory portion, but I'm worried that c:\inetpub\wwwroot is not always the correct root.

I found this reg key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\ContentIndex\Catalogs\Web\Location
and wondered if that would be a good way to determine the root for inetpub?  I am thinking that a Registry Search followed by a modification to the Directory table would let me use the property from the search as the install location?

Does anyone have experience with this type of procedure?

TIA

Try an other registry path
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W3SVC\Parameters\Virtual Roots

The key for "/" has the directory you are looking for.

Hope that helps
