I have a Installshield project that after being installed causes a windows explorer dialog to be opened after a windows login. Has anyone faced a similar problem, or have any idea what could be causing this? This doesn't happen on all computers that I install on. Thanks.

Search on the startup folder and the run registry keys.
It happens after the installer request the restart?
Also see if that before restart is not open an explorer window...

As already suggested I would search all startup items: Startup folder, run keys (run, runonce, etc... - these exist both per machine and per user), services, logon scripts etc...
Please note: I have also seen this happen if a shortcut points to an empty path.
