Hello all,
Here I am facing one strange problem.
I have developed an install script MSI application using IS10. Installation works fine and install an application in 5 to 7 minute.
But some time it took hours for moving the files. I am not able to understand why this is happening? Is it a machine specific problem? If yes, then it should happen on every similar machine.
Can anybody tell me why such strenge thing hppening?
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
Thanks
Shekhar

If its WinXP then setup might be taking time to create a system restore point.
Additionally long installation time may be affected by large number of files.

Hi Ankur,
Thanks for the replay. The OS is win 2003 server. The machine configuration is quit high as it is server.
One thing you said correctly that there are lots of files installer have to copy. Then in this case it should take more time at every instance of installation.
I am facing the problem some times and that too the time required for installation is almost few hrs.
Is there any windows service makes the installation process slow. If yes, then how to find out that.
Do you have any idea?
Thanks!
