Checking the installed product version to apply a PATCH.

Hi people,
I need to apply a PATCH to update an installed product from version 2.0 to version 3.0. But this PATCH is not valid for version 1.0 of the product.
How can I verify if I am applying the PATCH to the right installed version?
All versions (1.0, 2.0 and 3.0) have the same product code, same upgrade code and diffrent package code.

Hi,
I succeded in retieving Package using functions discribed in "Using the Summary Information Stream
" chapter of Windows Installer help.
