The book "The Definitive Guide to Windows Installer" by Phil Wilson is now shipping (I think is has been available in USA for a while, but now it's also shipping in Europe).
It is an introduction to MSI technology and includes some practical tips. It's primarily using Visual Studio .NET and Orca as tools.
