Update/patch old IS 5.5 with Installer 2.03

I must do an update/patch to an old InstallShield Professional 5.5 project. I want to use IPWI 2.03 for this task, but I need to know how I can make a conditional installation. I need to verify that a folder exists before doing the update. I have tried the command "&FolderName > 2", but this only seems to work for a Windows Installer setup.
