I am using BASIC MSI Project.
I Have requirement where in I need to build a DVD whose contents can be anywhere between 1 to 4 GB of data.
I am currently testing my Installer with 1.2 GB of data and
First thing I noticed was that the Progress Bar takes
a long -time to get activated in setup progress dialog, so the end user might feel that the system has hung and also it takes a Long time to Install.Around 1 hr to Install 1.2GB, is there any way we can optimize and increase the performance and show some status to the user that it is not HUNG.
Also Note that I can't compress the contents in DVD.

Firstly you need to find out why it is taking so long to install.
Try running with log mode and find the actions that are taking up time.
Also, do you have Anti Virus software running? if yes, then this could be causing the isntall to run slowly as well
