has anyone run into the problem of the user having an encrypted hard drive? or encrypted folders on their hard drive?
i ran into this situation...
the user encrypted their desktop folder
then downloaded my msi to the desktop
tried to run the msi
received an error during install.
my guess is that windows installer couldn't read information from the msi because it was encrypted.
does anyone have any insight into this and how to solve it?

If the install did not start at all: this MSI was probably corrupted during the download, so not related to FileSystem encryption.

when the user unencrypted his desktop the install worked just fine.

I don't find the reference right now, but I think there are known issues with Windows Installer and folders.
