Hello,
I need to create a registry key under HKLM. I have decided to use the registry view in InstallShield IDE. I have read earlier that it is not a good practice to associate multiple files to a single component.
Similarly, i would like to know if such a thing holds good even for registry keys?
I already have a registry component which creates registry keys.
So should i associate my new registry key with the existing component or use an entirely new component for this registry key?
What is the best practice for creating registry keys?

If the registry keys are always created, I see no harm in having multiple keys in the same component.
If there are different circumstances under which the keys are created, then you should probably put them in different components.
